Late on Friday night, a deadly shooting occurred at a house in the 4600-block of Manning Street, close to 46th Avenue, according to the Meridian Police Department.
What Happened
Officers arrived at the scene after a report and discovered a female victim who was quickly transported to a hospital. She was later pronounced dead, Assistant Chief Dareall Thompson confirmed.
A man turned himself in to authorities and told investigators that he had shot his grandmother. He is currently in police custody and being questioned about his claim.
Investigators are actively working to verify the suspect’s statement and gather all the facts of how the shooting unfolded.
