The meeting was confirmed by the town’s mayor, Michelle Douglas, though she emphasized that the project remains at a very early stage and she is bound by confidentiality agreements limiting disclosure of specifics.
ExxonMobil hasn’t responded publicly to a request for comment made on Wednesday, and others familiar with the proposal declined to reveal the nature of the planned development.
